Just be a better you.
Updated: Jan 8
So if you’re anything like me, you’ll have completely over indulged at Christmas BUT if you’ve not put on at least half a stone and become sick of the sight of food, have you even lived?
Despite the uncertainty of the pandemic (anyone else sick of hearing about tiers yet?!), I’m looking forward to the New Year and ready to put 2020 very much behind us! A New Year always brings with it new ideas of how you can be a better person or of things you’d like to experience. This year is no exception, unless you are like Calvin here.
Like most, I usually have a focus around some sort of health kick/weight loss goal. Ideas float around my head in January of how I’m going to end up looking like one of the Love Island contestants by June and not a year goes by where I don’t think “Maybe we’ll win the lottery and get to move to the ‘We’re going on a Bear Hunt’ house.” (I am aware the house is fictional and we also don’t play the lottery- deluded much?)
I think it’s fair to say that these are more like pipe dreams rather than resolutions. After all, Google defines New Year's resolutions as the practice of a person resolving to continue good practices, change an undesired trait or behaviour, to accomplish a personal goal, or otherwise improve their life.
Therefore my focus is being myself - but better. I think it's an achievable goal to be more you, right? I am already very eco conscious and environmentally considerate but it is something that I am keen to make further progress with.
I will share with you my plans for the year ahead in the hope that it inspires you to just be a better you.
I aim to be more...
It is said that it takes only 21 days to make something a habit so I should easily be able to focus on 12 over the next 12 months.
I'll let you know how I get on... I'm currently still sat in elasticated trousers eating left overs because they can't possibly be wasted, can they?!
Wish me luck, and I wish you all a happy and healthy New Year ahead.
